Security FAQ
Can I trust you with my data?
Yes. Having run product teams at some of the most security-conscious companies such as Google and Palantir, we understand the sensitivity of team conversations, code, and documents.
We also know teams' knowledge, when safely and securely processed, can yield tremendous insights that greatly increase a product lead's leverage in getting things done.
This is why we're committed to upholding high security standards while leveraging the latest frontier technologies to unlock insights for product leads.
Are you SOC 2 certified?
We are not yet SOC 2 certified, but we are working towards obtaining a certification. Practically speaking, we are already following many of the recommendations across SOC 2 trust principles - since the inception of ThriveAI we've prioritized setting up the right security frameworks from the start so that we are doing right by our customers. For example:
- All of our systems are behind role-based authentication with strong passwords and utilize MFA when available.
- We utilize network firewalls, segregate unrelated systems, and require several layers of authentication to access key systems.
- All data is encrypted at rest and in transmission.
- Our company property is inventoried, physically secured, access is logged and restricted.
What large language models do you use, and will my data be used to train or appear in their responses to other users?
We use a mix of closed (OpenAI, Claude, etc) and open (Llama, Mistral, etc) LLMs that are either hosted by a cloud provider or by ourselves. For models hosted by a third-party, we ensure that the following conditions are met:
- There is a clear policy governing the use of the hosted API that disallows the provider from training models on data (see example from OpenAI)
- The provider is SOC 2 compliant.
- All data is encrypted at rest and in transmission.

Do you store all my Slack data (or code from Github, or document content from Google Drive)?
No. We have no interest in replicating the storage of messages (or code, or docs) that other services do so well already. Instead, ThriveAI analyzes your team's work and takes notes that summarize the key ideas of conversations or docs. Think of how a new PM hire might take well-organized notes on the progression of various projects, who is working on what, and the latest priorities. Then, when we need to find relevant information to help you make product decisions, ThriveAI references these well-organized notes and fetches additional information as needed.
What control do I have over the integrations?
You have full control over the integrations, and we only integrate with third-parties through their official API platforms, and only requesting access to scopes and data that we need. Every integration can be disconnected from the third-party side by revoking OAuth tokens or uninstalling the ThriveAI app on the third-party platform.
What happens to my data I disconnect an integration?
We purge the metadata we created from syncing with the third-party. Should you wish to re-integrate, you can always do so again to enrich the analysis ThriveAI is able to perform.
